Four Things I Can’t Wait For In The Second Half Of 2020

We’re pretty much half way through the year now which in itself is a little bit crazy. When 2020 started none of us had any idea what we were in store for. The first few weeks for me were a massive blur with my 30th birthday and getting engaged. And despite everything that’s gone on with COVID and the worldest craziest, 2020 is always going to be special year for me and Luke. There are so many things I can’t wait for, but I’m trying not to rush things.

I have loads of things to re-book and re-organise from theatre trips which got cancelled to city breaks I want to book. But I’m holding restraint. We’re nowhere near out of this and there’s a lot of things up in the air. And to be honest I’m okay with taking it easy.

Here are some of the things I can’t wait for in the second half of 2020:

Things I can’t wait for: Going back to the cinema

I’ve missed the cinema and new movies so much during COVID. I used to go to Cineworld most weeks, especially as we had our unlimited cards. And I’ve seen so many amazing movies. While I’m not 100% sure how I feel about the precautions and trusting people around me I can’t wait to go back to the cinema. Especially as there are quite a lot of good movies coming up including Mulan and Wonder Woman

Actually moving into our first home

Of course the biggest thing for us in 2020 is moving into new house. It’s the most important out of all of the things I can’t wait for and it’s something we’ve been waiting for for a while. After getting the keys at the end of March renovations have been happening but the end is (sort of) in sight.

Our hope is to move in Mid-August with just a few bits and pieces to finish which will mainly be the garage renovations. But that’s something we can manage when we’re in the house. I can’t wait to get in there and get our home life routine in.

Things I can’t wait for: Portugal

I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about travelling but we do have a trip to Portugal planned for the first week of November. It’s a trip that was rearranged from the end of March so hopefully it will go ahead. We’ve got our own villa so will have our own space. And we’re not planning on doing lots of exploring as it’s more of a relaxing holiday. So we don’t need to worry about massive tourist spots. But we’ll see how it goes closer to the time.

Christmas

I’m always looking forward to Christmas but this year will be mine and Luke’s first in our new home. And our first as an engaged couple. We’re still not 100% what we’re going to do at Christmas but we might spend the day together just us at the house. Then split out Boxing Day and Christmas Eve between both our sets of parents. This way we can enjoy our home on the day and not have to split our time and be driving around.

These are just some of the things I can’t wait for during the rest of 2020. What about you?
