Lockdown has been a strange time as we’ve barely seen anyone outside of our home in months. I’ve developed a better appreciation for things during lockdown and it’s certainly helped me slow down my pace of life. But there are loads of things I can’t wait to do when lockdown is over. Now when lockdown is officially over it’s going to take a while before I start doing ‘normal’ things again. The idea of going on a train into London or sitting in a packed cinema screen fills me with dread a little bit. So when I say it’s something I can’t wait to do when lockdown is over it’s probably going to be more like months after lockdown ends. But it’s nice to think ahead to some fun times.
Go and see my nan and auntie
I am very close with my nan and auntie and usually see them every week. But during lockdown I’ve not properly seen them at all. And only had the odd doorstop visit which isn’t the same. My nan is 80 so in the vulnerable category and my auntie lives with her. As soon as we feel it’s safe enough to see them I can’t wait to go. Just to be able to sit in the house with them, have a hug or go down for food is something I can’t wait to do when lockdown is over.
Plus I know they’re both crawling the walls as they’ve not been outside of their house in about 2 and a half months. I feel cooped up enough and I can go out very occasionally for a walk or a trip to the supermarket. So I can’t imagine how they’re feeling.
Have brunch with my girlies is something I can’t wait to do when lockdown is over
It’s been lovely to catch up with friends over zoom, but it’s not quite the same as seeing them in person. When this is all back to a vague normality I’d love to catch up and all go for brunch. Even better if it’s a bottomless one because why not?! It will be lovely to properly see them all and catch up face-to-face. Along with having an excuse to dress up, do my hair and put makeup on. Three things I’ve pretty much not done during lockdown.
Re-book the activities we’ve had to cancel
We’ve had quite a few activities we had booked been cancelled including two theatre shows, an escape room and axe throwing. With all of them I’ve got vouchers or the chance to re-book so I’m keen to get some activities re-booked in. Even if we book them for months and months time but having plans is something I can’t wait to don when lockdown is over. Even if we don’t do the actual activities. I’m someone who thrives on plans and having fun things in the calendar.
Something I can’t wait to do when lockdown is over is have a London day
This one might be quite a way away as I’m not sure how I feel about public transport but I do love days out in London. I love planning days full of activities and foodie spots. And my list of things to do and places to go just keeps growing. You can check out my latest London bucket list here.
But most of all I want us all to be happy and safe
