If we went back about five or six years I wouldn’t have been able to name you more than a few skincare brands I even used. Never mind loved. I’ve gotten into skincare a lot over the years as I hit my mid to late twenties. And now I’m 30 I’ve found it even more important to invest in good skincare brands and products. My routine is pretty set now and I have quite an extensive (but not OTT) AM and PM routine and I’m happy with what I’m doing.
I’ve tried a lot of skincare brands over the years but here are some of my favourites:
Fresh Beauty
I first tried Fresh Beauty after getting a mini set of their products from Sephora. Gotta love the minis. The set came with some of the rose hydration collection including the deep hydration face cream, the fresh rose face mask and the Soy face cleanser. The cleanser has a bit of a cult status and I can understand why. It’s a great all round cleanser when you don’t want to overcomplicate things. Sometimes my skin gets sensitive or red and this is super-gentle on my skin.
Even though I’m not the biggest fan of the rose scent I love the hydrating rose collection. The deep hydrating face cream isn’t too heavy and makes my skin feel plumper. And the face mask is so refreshing when your skin needs a pick me up. I’ve tried the toner which is beautiful and hydrating.
Other products I love include the Vitamin Nectar Glow Face Mask and Black Tea Overnight Firming Mask. Basically I’ve never tried a product from them I didn’t love.
Skincare brands I love: Pixi
Next up is good old Pixi Beauty. Know for their cult tonic which I do love but haven’t actually used in a while. Pixi now have about six or seven different tonics and my favourite is the milky tonic as it’s really hydrating. That whole milky collection is a winner for me as it’s suitable for sensitive skin and just pumps hydration in.
I’ve been using the Glow Tonic Serum in my serum rotation and love how plump my skin feels afterwards. The Glow Cleanser was nice but not the best cleanser I’ve ever used. Another product I love from them are the detoxifeye depuffing eye patches. They’re lovely to leave on when I’m watching TV and the hydration boost is great.
Glow Recipe
I’ve only tried about three products from this range but love them all so I had to include them. The first product I tried from the brand was the Blueberry gel cleanser. Blueberries are an antioxidant which is meant to be great for your skin but I hadn’t seen a lot of other skincare brands using them. Gel cleanser wise it’s my favourite formula as it’s easy to apply and foams up a dream. Plus the smell is amazing without being overpowering.
Next up I bought the watermelon glow sleeping mask which is a really lightweight sleep mask. It’s radiance boosting and hydrating with hyaluronic acid but soothing on the skin with the watermelon extract. The final product I have and love from the brand is the Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask. It’s creamy, nourishing and has the most gentle form of retinol within it.
Next on my list to try is the Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner.
